Skip has been having some vertigo issues especially first thing in the morning. Twice this morning we tried the exercises that the physical therapist gave him previously which made the symptoms worse, a known risk. He went on about his morning routine. As we finished up our pancake breakfast I prepared in ChILL, Skip decided it was time to get help from an urgent care location.
Skip found one, named Urgent Team, not too far away and made an appointment for 1:30. The staff was nice and efficient. The nurse practitioner examined his ears and found everything was normal, including his blood pressure. Because she is not a physical therapist, she would not attempt the exercises that can sometimes bring relief. Her recommendation is to take 25 mg of meclizine (Dramamine) up to 4 separate doses a day to see if it makes any difference and to work with a physical therapist after we get home.
As the day went on the vertigo symptoms lessened. The more Skip moves around the better he starts to feel. Thanking God that Skip is able to function as we continue to make our way home.
Making repairs in beautiful places continues with the project being to replace the grabber catches that secure the large medicine cabinet mirror in the bathroom. Skip found the only suitable replacement at Home Depot but he is not sure it will be strong enough to keep the mirror closed as we travel. Nevertheless he installed the new ones and we are hoping for the best at least until we can get the proper replacements after we get home.
Next we went to Publix for supplies. After being in so many unfamiliar grocery stores along the way it was nice to be back “where shopping is a pleasure.”
The gas tank is always hungry so we fed it at a BP station.
Headed for Walgreens to pick up the prescription for Skip and then headed back home to ChILL.
The picnic table was my exercise location and then I took a walk around the campground. Skip was busy making the repair to the medicine cabinet mirror and taking care of the black tank in preparation for our early morning departure.
Dinner was Cheesy Enchilada Hamburger Helper and a salad prepared in ChILL. The southwestern salad kit was a hit, the Hamburger Helper was, well, it could use some help, maybe topping with shredded cheese and sour cream would make it tastier.
Our lunchbox sandwiches are made, apples are sliced, and the rear awning is closed, the only one we used at this location.
A little TV and showers and off to our cozy beds.
